Matamata Historical Society

Working bee on site 8am - 12pm every Wednesday morning. Community open meetings every 4th Tuesday of the month at 1pm (March to October).

Yoga with Becky

This is a traditional Hatha yoga class, all levels catered for. Consists of Asana (movement) followed by pranayama (breath) and relaxation to finish.

Sessions are held through the school term.

- Tuesdays 5.30-6:30pm

- Thursdays 9-10am and 5.30-6.30pm

Casual session fee $15 per person.

Summertime sessions are in the gardens at the reserve.

Transition Matamata - Community Garden

Meet weekly Wednesday mornings 8am-12 noon. Taking care of the community garden and having morning tea together. For further details about the Composting Workshops please contact Jeff Johnson 0211177146.

Tower Spinners and Weavers

Meet 10:30am - 2:30pm every second and fourth Thursday of the month in the Homestead dining area or on the veranda. Contact Ann Barbour 0272844014.

Meeting 1:30pm - 3:30pm every second Tuesday of the month in the Heritage Room, Firth Tower. 

Annual Book Fair

Drop off all pre-loved books at the office during museum opening hours or contact Matamata Historical Society.

Secondhand Book Shop

A fine selection of preloved books. Open during museum hours. Located at the back of the Post Office.

Annual Fun Run/Walk

The Matamata Tower Fun Run/Walk committee co-ordinate the event on the last Friday evening of the month of February. Please contact Rex Thorley 021 111 5400
